Baby Tooth That Has Fallen Out

Losing a baby tooth may not appear to be a major issue, but it can lead to significant hidden complications. In the event of an accident or injury causing your child's tooth to be knocked out, it is crucial to maintain cleanliness in the area and promptly arrange an emergency dentist visit. Our team will thoroughly assess your child's smile and recommend suitable tooth replacement solutions, if necessary.

Permanent Tooth Knocked Out

If your child has lost a permanent tooth, please contact Dr. C KIDS Dentistry immediately and make sure to keep the tooth safe until you arrive!

Gently rinse the tooth with warm water, avoiding scrubbing, and hold it by the crown, not the root. Then, have your child try to place the missing tooth back into its socket until you can reach our office. If reinsertion is not possible, place the tooth in a cup of milk and bring it with you to your emergency appointment.

Broken Tooth

Children can experience a broken tooth for a number of reasons, including falls, spills, and biting down on hard foods. If your child’s tooth suffers a break, rinse the area with warm water before placing a cold compress over the face to reduce swelling. Call our office immediately for tooth repair and to assess further injuries.

Swelling & Abscesses

Is there swelling or an abscess along your child's gum line? This can indicate a tooth infection that could progress into a more serious health concern. To treat it quickly, call our office for an emergency dental appointment. Until you can get to our office, place a cold compress on your child's face to reduce any pain and swelling.
